HOW IT ALL BEGAN
VYNCKE was established in 1912 by Louis VYNCKE. Through four generations of VYNCKE family members, the company has grown from strength to strength relying on each family members' unique abilities. Today, spread globally the company is being transformed by the latest VYNCKE owners, Peter and Dieter, to handle the challenges of today's complex world.
By the 1920’s the local flax industry in Flanders, on the wave of new industrialized methods of production, started to flourish. This brought a large demand for steam boilers to produce energy for the process of removing the flax fibers from their stalks. Louis introduced his skills as a blacksmith to build and repair those riveted boilers. As coal was expensive, the boilers in the region were adapted to burn the straw waste from the flax manufacturing process. And so VYNCKE had entered the bioenergy market long before Global Warming and Kyoto were to become common words.
In the postwar era, flax waste became the raw material for the panel board industry in Flanders. While the flax industry moved into the panel industry, VYNCKE followed its Customers and supplied their boilers.
